Long-Term Care in Ontario

  • Private Accommodation

Like having your own space? A private room is probably for you. Though slightly more expensive than shared rooms, private rooms are yours to personalize as you wish and are more spacious than shared ones. You’ll get to enjoy your own bathroom, and family members are welcome to stay as long as they like.
  • Shared Accomodation

Enjoy having a roommate? A shared room might be for you. Also known as standard or basic accommodation, shared rooms are more affordable. We work to bring people of the same gender with lots in common together, so that you and your new friend can enjoy your time here.

Long-Term Care/Residential Care in British Columbia

  • Government-subsidized Residential Care

If you fit the eligibility criteria, the Ministry of Health may subsidize part of your costs for residential care. Some important things to note: There is a government waiting list. If you feel you need placement faster, you can use private-pay temporarily. It will not affect your place on the government-subsidized waiting list. You will be expected to take the first residence with an available room. Failure to do so may result in you being deemed ineligible for government-subsidized residential care. There is a monthly cost of up to 80 percent of your after-tax income. For more information, check our rates page. To get started, call your local health authority.
  • Private-pay Residential Care

Private-pay residential care services give you the chance to decide where you want to stay and when you want to move in. There are no criteria to determine your eligibility, and you don’t have to contact your health authority to get started. Everything is between you and the home of your choice. Some important things to note: Staying in a private-pay room will not affect your position on the government-subsidized residential care waiting list. There are no government waiting lists or eligibility criteria. Residences keep their own waiting lists, and it is often possible to move in immediately. Services are not funded by the government and are dependent on market rates. You can contact your insurance company or veteran’s affairs. They may cover part of the costs. Which location you stay in is entirely up to you. To learn more, please book a tour now.

This place is outstanding! We recently attended a bbq and corn roast there for the residents...they could invite their families. The staff were so kind, helpful and accommodating. It was a great atmosphere and the food was amazing! The chef is so talented and the kitchen team always turn out gourmet quality dining. After lunch we relaxed in the gardens and enjoyed some very tasteful live music. This is truly a special place and always a delight to visit!

As a VISITOR to ROYALE PLACE Retirement Residence for the unique "MEET and MINGLE" / "SPEED TALKING" event on February 12th, I was "Blown Away" to take slang from my youngest Grandson. Every one of your STAFF that I had the privilege to meet, was Professional and Well Qualified. I was given a copy of "The Royalis Community News and WOW. !Your "VISION" and MISSION" seem to be being met and then some. "To awaken our community to the positive possibilities of life's next chapters". "To help seniors to live fully, every day" BRAVO - I'm off to buy a LOTOMAX ticket, in hopes of moving in ! * !
